Dogs and Apple Trees

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

It’s nice to know that my Snowsweet Apple Tree is surviving the winter so far.

Unfortunately I know that it’s still alive because Titus, our foster dog, has been chewing on the tree.

With the amount of snow we’ve had he can get over the fence we put up to keep the rabbits away from it, and he pulled off some of the tree wrap, and ate a couple of the lower branches off.

Hopefully he didn’t do too much lasting damage.

How are your trees doing this winter?

Do you do anything to keep them safe from the cold, or do you live in an area where you don’t have to worry about that?

P-Joe is available for adoption from Ratbone Rescues

Isn’t P-Joe a cutie?

I can’t believe that he can sleep like that!

P-Joe is about 2 years old, weights 10 pounds, and only has one eye because he was hit by a car.

Poor thing.

Dec 5 - Yay! P-Joe’s been adopted!

Isn’t this adorable little girl precious?

I love her name!

Magenta is available for adoption from Ratbone Rescues which is a nationwide rat terrier rescue, so if you aren’t in Florida, you can still adopt her.

Magenta was 10 weeks old and weighed 9 pounds when the picture was taken.

If you visit her page you can click through to see more pictures of her and her siblings too.

Poor trampled bleeding heart

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Yup, my poor little bleeding heart plant was trampled by my bad, bad, dogs.

They walked all over it, the terrible little things.

I hope it survives without too much damage.

We planted it last year, and it was doing very well before the massacre, so hopefully it will be fine.

Any suggestions on how to care for trampled plants?
