The Thanksgiving Cactus is blooming again.
I’m really excited, because I’ve been wanting an Easter Cactus since I found out that there was an Easter Cactus.
Only half of the plant bloomed at Thanksgiving, so I think the other half is blooming now.
Either way, I think it’s pretty cool.
Have your Holiday Cacti ever bloomed twice?

The blooms on my Thanksgiving Cactus all dropped within the past two weeks.
We got new windows, then the humidity in the house increased so much that we had to get a dehumidifier, so I’m sure that the sudden drop in the humidity had something to do with it.

I’ve been trying to pollinate my Thanksgiving Cactus so we’ll see what happens.

The blooms on the Thanksgiving Cactus are finally starting to open.
There are a few buds on the side that didn’t have any buds on it last week, but not many.
It’s easy to forget how beautiful the blooms are when you haven’t seen them in so long.

Yup – I’m just realizing why my “Christmas” cactus is starting to bloom.
I get the University of Minnesota Extensions newsletter, and when I saw the heading “Holiday Cactus” I just thought they didn’t want to say Christmas anymore.
But when I read it, I realized there are Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter Cacti.
