Hi Nancy,

We finally took the Fuji out last month.

Only one branch was growing from the bottom, and I'm not sure if it was Fuji, or the part that had been grafted on.

If it was in a more protected area, it might have been ok, I'm just not sure.

Good luck if you try it - let me know how it turns out.

Hi - I know you wrote this a while ago, but I was just curious if you had any success with your Fuji Apple Tree. I too am located in Minnesota and was wondering if it would be worthwhile to try planting a fuji apple tree. My husband is from the South and these are his favorite type of apple....

Thanks!

Thanks Tighe Lory.

I knew that most were grafted, but I didn't realize they were grafted onto another apple tree.

I guess we'll wait and see for now - we can always take it down if it isn't a fuji apple and put something we'll like in it's place.

That looks like an apple, but it might not be a fuji -- you see most apple trees are branches from a donor tree grafted onto a rootstock from some other variey of apple.

Check this out -- I got peaches and almonds from the same tree!
