Carrot Cake Murder - A Hannah Swenson Mystery Review

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

I just finished reading Carrot Cake Murder by Joanne Fluke.

I love reading these murder mysteries about Hannah Swenson, who owns the Cookie Jar, in Lake Eden, Minnesota.

The only problem is that the constant talking about cookies and other goodies always leaves me wanting something sweet to eat.

Fortunately the Hannah Swenson mysteries also contain recipes of some of the most talked about goodies in the book, so if I just have to have that new Viking Cookie, or some Black Forest Brownies I can whip some up.

In Carrot Cake Murder, Hannah Swenson and the residents of Lake Eden are back - along with a quiet a few extra former residents who are in town for a family reunion.

Of course you can’t have a murder mystery without a murder - and this time the victim is Lisa’s Uncle Gus, who took off from Lake Eden without a word over thirty years ago, and magically reappeared during the family reunion.

What made Gus leave so long ago?  Why did he return for the family reunion?

Will the situation with Hannah’s two boyfriends, Mike Kingston and Norman Rhodes ever be resolved?

You’ll have to read the book to find out!
