The Tales of Beedle the Bard – A Book Review
Posted by Sarah O. on January 15, 2009
I finished reading The Tales of Beedle the Bard a few days ago, and I really enjoyed it.
Although I’ve heard that the book was geared towards children, I disagree.
The tales were geared towards children, of course – they are the witches and warlock’s version of fairytales, but the commentary by Professor Dumbledore is definitely geared towards people with a wider range of vocabulary than I think most children have.
Of course this book is interesting for the fairytale aspect itself, and it appeals to those who loved Harry Potter and his world.
Over all – I think it’s worth a read if you like either.
Scholastic, the publisher of the book is also donating the net proceeds from the book to The Children’s High Level Group, a charity founded in part by J.K Rowling (the author of this book and the Harry Potter series) which aims to protect and promote the rights of vulnerable young people.
